Electronic Vignettes

The electronic vignette for paid road network in the Republic of Bulgaria is for a specific period of time and is required for all passenger and light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tons.

Purchasing an electronic vignette is entirely possible online via the tollpass.bg platform or the TollPass mobile app in just a few easy steps:

1. Select the vehicle type (car or trailer/caravan)

If a trailer or caravan is attached to a passenger or light commercial vehicle and the total weight exceeds 3.5 tons, a separate electronic vignette for the trailer/caravan is mandatory. The validity period may differ from the car’s vignette validity.

Motorcycles, tricycles, and ATVs are exempt from vignette tolls.

2. Enter country of registration and license plate number

When the vehicle travels on the paid road network, the control system (stationary and mobile cameras) detects the symbols, digits, and letters on the license plate.
Bulgarian license plates in their standard format contain letters common to both Cyrillic and Latin alphabets – A, B, E, K, M, H, O, P, C, T, Y, and X. The system accepts both Cyrillic and Latin, provided they exactly match the license plate. The symbols 0 (zero) and O (letter) are not interchangeable.

3. Choose a start date and vignette type with appropriate validity period

You can purchase an electronic vignette up to 30 days before the desired start date.
The validity of the vignette begins at the time of purchase or from 00:00:00 on a specified future start date and ends at 23:59:59 on the last day of the selected validity period. An exception is the weekend vignette, which is valid from 12:00:00 on Friday to 23:59:59 on Sunday.

4. Pay with a debit or credit card

Before making a payment, ensure the license plate number and country of registration are entered correctly (both are shown on the license plate).
The electronic vignette becomes valid from the moment of payment and a PDF receipt is sent to the provided email address as confirmation of the successful transaction.

Notifications for expiring vignette validity

All TollPass customers receive automatic notifications when a vignette is about to expire or if a violation is registered for the vehicle due to a missing vignette. Notifications are sent to the email address entered during the purchase.

If you wish to receive reminders for an already purchased and active vignette, you can register it on this page https://register.vinetki.bg/ by entering the license plate number, country of registration, and email address where notifications should be sent.

Incorrect data entered for a purchased vignette

Corrections to incorrectly entered data are possible in the following cases: wrong vehicle type, incorrect country of registration, up to three wrong or missing characters in the license plate. The applicant must provide proof of payment. The vignette validity period cannot be changed. If violations were registered during the validity of the original vignette, no fines will be imposed.
The correction is made only by employees of the Road Infrastructure Agency after submitting a request to the National Toll Administration or the respective Regional Road Administration.
