In Bulgaria, for the use of the paid road network tolls are paid by heavy goods vehicles with technically permissible maximum mass over 3.5 tons and passenger vehicles with technically permissible maximum mass exceeding 3.5 tons with more than 8 seats without the driver's seat. The toll system is GNSS based. All motorways, first-class and second-class roads are subject to toll. Second-class roads are charged at a zero-tariff rate.

Variable vehicle parameters to be declared by the on-board unit:

• The actual number of axles of the attached trailer

When entering the data for the license plate number of the vehicle at TollPass.bg, it is necessary to observe the requirements for the special symbols:

• the symbols Ä, Ö, Ü are entered in full compliance, as written on the license plate number;
• the symbols Č, Ć, Ž, Š, Đ are entered with their corresponding standard letters - C, Z, S, D.
