Easy toll payment in the Netherlands with TollPass EUROBOX

Starting July 1, 2026, the Netherlands will be included in the TollPass EETS service for toll payments across Europe, using a single onboard device – TollPass EUROBOX.

A new toll system is coming into force in the Netherlands. All heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes will pay tolls based on the distance travelled.

The toll system in the Netherlands uses GNSS technology to calculate the distance travelled based on GPS positioning during the journey. The same system is already in use in Bulgaria, Germany, Belgium, Slovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland, and the Czech Republic.

The toll network includes all motorways and parts of national and regional roads. The toll amount depends on the vehicle’s weight category, road type, and CO₂ emission class.

No VAT is applied to toll charges in the Netherlands.
