Road tolls in ALSACE, FRANCE
Tolling in Alsace with TollPass EUROBOX 4G
From 1 January 2027, a new toll domain comes into force in France: Alsace. It will be part of TollPass EETS coverage, so you can pay tolls across Europe with ONE on-board unit, TollPass EUROBOX.
All goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes will pay a distance-based toll. Zero-emission vehicles (electric and hydrogen) are exempt.
Alsace uses GNSS technology, which records the distance travelled from GPS positions during the journey. Tolling is free-flow, so there are no barriers and no need to stop. The same applies in Bulgaria, Germany, Belgium, Slovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, Poland and the Czech Republic.
The tolled road network covers approximately 200 km:
- A35 and A36: the non-concessioned sections outside the Eurométropole de Strasbourg
- RD83: between Colmar and Sélestat
- RD1363, RD502 and RD504
The Alsace toll domain is not part of France’s motorway toll system. It is charged as a separate toll domain.
The toll amount depends on the vehicle’s gross combination weight (GCW) and its Euro emission class.
Tolls in Alsace are not subject to VAT.

From December 2026, you can activate automatic tolling with TollPass EUROBOX 4G directly from your online contract.
The Alsace toll domain is supported only by TollPass EUROBOX 4G. If you use an older TollPass EUROBOX model, please request a device replacement.
