In Belgium, the road toll for heavy goods vehicles (lorries) with a gross vehicle weight of more than 3,5 tonnes is collected by the satellite charging system (GNSS). The distance-based charging system applies to the three Belgian regions - Flanders, Wallonia, and Brussels. Tolls are charged for the use of all roads in Belgium, some of which are charged with zero fare.
Variable vehicle parameters to be declared by the on-board unit:
- The driver shall not change the vehicle data.
Viapass's current toll for Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia can be found here: https://www.viapass.be/en/downloads/tariffs/
A separate invoice or toll report shall be issued for each Belgian region. For Brussels and Flanders, VAT is not applicable and the invoice is considered as a toll report. Vat of 21% applies to Wallonia.
The control of the lawful use of the toll road network and its correct payment in Belgium shall be carried out through control gantries, mixed checks, or mobile control teams.
