Tolling in Denmark
Tolling in Denmark from January 2027
The Danish toll system uses GNSS technology and currently applies to heavy goods vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of 12 tonnes or more. From 5 January 2027, it will be extended to all goods vehicles with a maximum permissible weight over 3.5 tonnes.
The tolled road network covers most of the national road network and certain sections of municipal roads, with a total length of approximately 10,900 km.
According to the Danish government’s plans, from 1 January 2028 tolling will be extended to the entire public road network in Denmark, with a total length of approximately 75,000 km.
