Automatic charging with GPS device
Users may choose automatic tolling by using a GPS tracker for satellite positioning installed in the vehicle. They have to conclude contract with Toll Declaration Provider (TDP) that meets the requirements of Art. 32 of Ordinance under Art. 10, para. 7 of the Roads Act and which is entered in the public register of the providers of the declared data and with which "Intelligent Traffic Systems" AD has a contract. The TDP transmits positioning data to ITS in a format suitable for processing and which ITS transmits to the Electronic Toll Collection System of Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA).
The device for satellite positioning should be certified by TDP according to the requirements of ITS, as well as the requirements of RIA.
In order for the TDP to provide the automatic toll collection service through a satellite positioning device, the TDP must ensure the following mandatory functionalities to the users of the paid road network:
- To provide opportunity for dynamic change of the number of axles of the vehicle by the Clients in real time
- To provide continuous accessibility of its system for commercial operation and data transmission
- Needs to have and to maintain a Client notification system in accordance with the requirements of ITS and RIA. Customers should receive notifications when a satellite positioning device is included in the list of invalid devices, due to a technical failure, lack of mobile data connection, etc.
- Needs to maintain a contact service center for the road users, working 24 (twentyfour) hours, 7 (seven) days a week, supporting at least 2 languages - English and Bulgarian
